Challenges
Endurance challenges are where The Cycling Initiative started — and where it keeps growing.

Where It Started
Wheels for Change
The Cycling Initiative grew directly out of Wheels for Change — the original group rides that brought this community together, supporting BC Children's Hospital Foundation. It's the same project and the same people, just rebranded and built out further. Those early rides are logged on the Newsletter alongside everything since.
Solo PR Rides
100 KM
More recently, solo endurance pushes have added to the total. Jaden's personal record is 100 km solo across greater Vancouver — downtown, through Stanley Park, along Kitsilano Beach, and back to North Delta — in just under 6 hours with about 3,300 feet of elevation gain. A 60 km solo ride two days earlier served as a tune-up for it.
Since then the total has grown to 505 km. The organization is building toward challenges well beyond any single ride.
